Monstera Deliciosa Tauerii

Monstera Deliciosa Tauerii is a beautiful tropical evergreen that makes a large and attractive indoor specimen plant. If you’re looking for some front room wow-factor this low-care monster or often referred to as the split-leaf philodendron will certainly give you a show. Now to tell the difference between the Tauerii and the Deliciosa. The Tauerii is the dwarf version growing to approx 2m.

Tauerii’s hefty scalloped foliage perched on long delicate-looking stems also softens outdoor spaces. He looks tropically amazing in the garden, but a word of warning – if you put him directly into the ground he may take over. The roots are invasive so we recommend keeping Monstera in a pot. 

This handsome chap suits any home decor and digs the poolside in particular but keep him in the shade or the foliage will burn but if he doesn’t get enough lgiht the plant may not develop as many perforations in his leaves.

How do I get the nice stylish leaf holes and splits out of him though? This varies pending on age, size and the amount of light the plant receives.

• What to use me for: I’m an indoor plant that will suit everyone and anyone’s home with designer chic and I can really soften an outdoor space – but please only in a pot.

• I grow to: I’m the smaller Monstera reaching up to 2m tall

• Where to place me:  I need bright indirect light in the house and full shade outside. I’ll tolerate low light, but grow faster and becomes more dramatic in a bright spot. 

• How far to space me:  I need a lot of room – 3.5 metres at least.

• Soil Conditions: I’m pretty hardy outside where I prefer moist soil, but indoors I need a well-drained potting mix and a light hand on the watering can. 

*Please note if planted in the natural ground these plants grow very large and have invasive roots so we recommend keeping it in a pot.
