Homalomena Sunshine Gem

Homalomena Sunshine Gem is an upright gem of a plant with lime green, waxy, spade-shaped leaves. They are relatively easy-care plants and make a nice foliage addition to your gang.

Homalomena houseplants do well in medium to low light exposures but truly thrive in medium light conditions.

Too much sun can scorch the foliage, causing burnt spots on the leaves and nobody likes that.

They dig a regular watering schedule and do not like to be dry, nor do they like to be sitting in water. Saturate the soil and be sure to provide good drainage then fertilise regularly with a liquid plant food used at the strength recommended by the manufacturer.

Please note: these plants are considered slightly poisonous and should be kept away from pets and children.

• What to use me for: Great as an indoor plant  

• Where to place me: Bright indirect light indoors or part shade outdoors 

• Watering conditions: Eek don’t overwater me – I like to be kept on the dry side but don’t let me dry out completely 

• Soil conditions: semi-porous, peat-based (but not too dense) and containing some sand and plenty of humus organic matter – you pay for what you get with soil.
