Ficus Pumila Ice Caps is commonly called Creeping Fig or Climbing Fig and is a native to East Asia. He is vigorous and likes to attach himself to surfaces by means of his aerial roots.
The crinkly, heart-shaped variegated white-edged leaves form on a fine stem which stick fast closely to its support.
When the plant grows up to become a big boy “matures” he starts to produce large, leathery adult foliage on horizontal, woody branches.Â
The Ice Caps fig is a tough drought tolerant creeper once established.
Prune to control his rampant growth and try to remove any horizontal branches which stand out from the support and produce unattractive adult foliage.
