Ficus Longifolia ‘sabre’

If you like a fiddle leaf fig you’ll love Ficus Longifolia ‘Sabre’. He’s a close cousin and we think he’ll soon overtake her in the popularity stakes.

Just like his cousin the fiddle leaf fig, Sabre is easy to care for and fast-growing but instead of traditional oval leaves, he’s showing off some slender dark green foliage with an elegant weeping habit. 

This classy Ficus makes the perfect indoor tree and a stand-out statement in any room of the house.

Be careful if you want to put him outdoors as figs can get very large with invasive roots in no time at all. He’s best contained in a pot!

• What to use me for: If you ever wanted to bring a tree indoors, I’m your guy – I rock a pot in the front room.

• I grow to: I’ll reach 2-3 metres high

• Where to place me: I don’t like full sun or a dark spot either. I do best in indirect sunlight.

• How far to space me: I recommend you keep me in a container outside as my roots can get crazy.

• Watering conditions: Only water me when my soil is dry to touch

• Soil Conditions: Free-draining potting mix, please. I don’t like soggy feet.

*Please note if planted in the natural ground these plants grow very large and have invasive roots so we highly recommend keeping it in a pot.
